Welcome Welcome to the official web site of the Livonia Camera Club. We are a group of photographic enthusiasts dedicated to promotion of photography through displays, competitions, critiques and education. Our group meets at 8 PM, the first two Thursdays of the month, from September through May at McKinley Elementary School, 9100 Hillcrest, Livonia, MI. Meeting Format The first Thursday features slide photographs; Open, assignment and Nature. Each photograph is judged by a panel and is awarded points for content, composition and technical accomplishment. In addition there is a critique to point out to the photographer the strong points of the entry and also what might have been done to improve it. Digitally created slides are allowed in the open and assignment categories but not in Nature. Nature slides must be taken on film and cannot be manipulated. The second Thursday of the month features print photographs. These prints compete in Open and assignment categories and are broken down into two print mediums. These are Monochrome (Black and White) and Color. An occasional third Thursday meeting is set aside for presentations or formal training programs. Outside speakers are sometimes brought in.
